Enviva Materials Sponsors "Tire Amnesty Day"
Youngstown's Mayor Jay Williams will join Enviva Materials executives and leaders of the local business community at a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 6. The following day, the company is sponsoring a "tire amnesty day" celebration at the facility at which the $1.50 per tire processing fee will be waived for consumers bringing in a set of up to four tires. Picnic-style food will be served.
Enviva Materials Supports Tire Recycling in Crawford County Pennsylvania
In Crawford County in northwester Pennsylvania on Oct. 6, Enviva is partnering with Jason Drake, an award-winning teacher at Maplewood High School in Guys Mills, Pa., to clean up a pile containing an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 tires. Drake is expecting about 200 high school and college students at a salvage yard in Townville to assist in the recycling project. An official with Enviva will instruact the students how to load the tires safely and efficiently onto trailers for transport to Eniviva's facility in Youngstown.
